How Can Therapy
Help You?

Understanding and validation can be the deepest healing experience for anyone.  Therapy can be used as a unique time and space where you can reconnect with yourself and reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and growth.  There may be some initial discomfort.  Healing and growth can be difficult, and some discomfort will likely be a part of your therapeutic experience.  You may be guided to find hope.  Or you may set goals, make plans, learn and practice skills, process feelings and experiences, or simply just talk.  Oftentimes, therapy is where our paths cross for an important time in your life until help is no longer needed.

Personal Growth

Reasons to Seek Therapy

Depression & feeling gloomy

Depression

A good time to seek help is when you are having low moods, sadness, irritability, negative thoughts, conflict with others, and inability to tend to important aeas of your life.

Anxiety & Fears

Anxiety

This can look different for everyone. It can appear physically (e.g., heart racing, panic attacks, tension), behaviorally (e.g., avoidance), and emotionally (e.g., stress, fear).

Intergenerational Trauma

Intergenerational Trauma

Deeply embedded patterns such as unhealthy communication, behaviors, and emotional responses can be signs of trauma passed down generationally through your parents and theirs.

Life Transitions & Changes

Life Transitions & Changes

Going through life changes such as relocating, new school, job, relationship change, and big life committments can be inevitable AND they can impact emotionally and physically.

Path towards Personal Growth

Personal Growth

Sometimes we feel stuck or stagnant in our current life stage and want something more, possibly increased awareness and self-reflection.  Therapy can be this safe space for you.

Adulting

"Adulting" (ages 18 - 40~)

Dealing with expectations and responsiblities, stepping into new role(s), or even starting something new can be overwhelming and full of pressure.  It is okay to ask for help.

Teens

Teens

Sometimes teens become emotional, act out, have outbursts, engage in risky behaviors, isolate, and become withdrawn.  These can be warning signs of a mental health decline.

Parenting

Parenting

Burnt out parents who have exhausted all their ideas to help their teen may need support from a therapist to understand repetitive, negative patterns and learn new parenting skills.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy

This is encouraged especially when you and your teen need a safe space to talk through difficult emotions and problems.  You may even be able to apply new skills to get closer together.
